Prologue

“Di! Dad! I’m back.”Eleven-year-old Regina pushed the front door open, her honey-brown eyes filled with mirth and a blinding smile could enamour any warrior with a mere glance.

She faltered in her steps, her lips curled downwards when she caught the sight of a buffy man in her living room, surrounded by dozens of men in black suits. Each was holding a shotgun in hand.

Unease slithered down her spine when she spotted her father's unconscious body splayed on the ground, gun pointed at his head by the said man.

“Welcome home, Regina.”A chilling voice called from her right and she staggered back.

“Who are you?”Her voice came out firm, betraying the fear she felt at the sight.

“It depends––” The man in black leather jacket paused and pedalled forward cornering her near the foyer.”––what do you want it to be? Dreams come true or your worst nightmare?”He breathed harshly and bit her earlobe.

She cried out in pain and forced the guy away, but failed.

Her five feet six-inch height was nothing in comparison to the six feet four inches of the giant.

“Get off me.”She begged when he came impossibly close.

Aghast, she prayed for the supreme power to help her but she was out of luck.

Her father was good as dead, her sister's voice died down after continuously begging the monsters who were lavishly enjoying her innocence.

Regina wanted to help but failed as she was nothing in comparison to the group of men surrounding her.

There were tears on her cheek, but she couldn’t remember when they’d fallen.

The man went on with his assault on her porcelain skin- licking, sucking, enjoying her tears. A sadist; he was.

When she mused that it was the end of her life, a bang like a cannon went off somewhere in the house. The blow took them by surprise. She flew out like a feather and landed harshly on the grassy ground.

Her head split open as it took most of the impact of the blow. But it wasn’t what made her wish for death. The flames licking and gobbling the only place she used to call her from the time she opened her eyes with the last members she shared her blood with made her do.

Fury red with stars surrounded in her vision as she saw her world crumble down to her feet.

Seconds turned into minutes, minutes into hours but nothing changed. She sat there immobile until her body gave out and she closed her eyes into oblivion.

Even as she swung between life and death, the one thing clung to her mind–revenge.
